Solo Bike Trip: Coached.
Small-group technical coaching on the same trails we guide every week — Desierto de los Leones, the Tehuacán Valley, and Oaxaca's Sierra Norte. No coast this time — just riding, dialled in.
Coaching, on the Terrain You’ll Actually Ride
This isn’t a generic skills camp bolted onto a group trip. It’s Solo Bike Trip’s home terrain — Desierto de los Leones, Murciélagos Bike Park in Ajalpan, and Oaxaca’s Sierra Norte — with daily coached sessions focused on line choice, body position, braking and confidence on exactly the trails you’re riding that day. Small group, real feedback, no filler.
Lily Planquart
Enduro World Series podium finisher.
French rider, 22 years old, racing at the top of the enduro circuit since 2021 — with Enduro World Series podium finishes already behind her. Her coaching philosophy is simple: speed comes from control, not from forcing it, so every session starts with the fundamentals before it ever gets fast.
On this clinic, that experience translates into coaching built around exactly the terrain you’re riding that day — line choice, braking, body position, and the small technical habits that separate “getting down the trail” from riding it with real control and speed.
Off the bike, Lily is always chasing new terrain to ride — which is exactly what brought her to Mexico’s trails in the first place.
Where You’ll Ride
The Itinerary
The shape of the week is set. Exact dates and a few details are being confirmed with Lily and our Oaxaca partner.
Welcome & Briefing
Airport pickup, hotel check-in, welcome dinner and clinic introduction with Lily.
Volcanic Loam & Mossy Roots
First coached session on the technical volcanic terrain above Mexico City. Transfer to Tehuacán after riding.
Murciélagos Bike Park
Coached session on the high-desert singletrack of Ajalpan, then transfer to Oaxaca for dinner.
Mezcal, Telar & Alebrijes
No riding — the same cultural day as our flagship trip: mezcal palenque, telar workshop, alebrijes workshop.
Pine-Needle Flow
A full coached day on Ixtepeji’s hand-built flow lines. Dinner at Restaurante Tierra del Sol.
Final Sierra Session
Second Sierra Norte coaching day — the fastest, most technical lines of the clinic.
Skills Review & Farewell
Final technique review session, followed by a closing dinner in Oaxaca.
End of Clinic
Private transfer to Oaxaca Airport (OAX) for connecting flights home.
Ride Ours, or Bring Your Own
A coaching week is hard on a bike. Rent from our fleet and it arrives sized and set up for you, gets serviced every evening, and our mechanic is at every session — so a mechanical never costs you a day of coaching.
Charged per riding day — never for the rest day or travel days. We confirm the total for this clinic once the dates are fixed.
The Questions We Get
Do I need to be an advanced rider?
This clinic is built for intermediate to intermediate-advanced riders — the same level as our regular guided trips. You should be comfortable on flowing singletrack with roots, loose loam and switchbacks for several hours a day, on consecutive days, at altitude. It is not a beginner clinic.
How is this different from a regular Solo Bike Trip departure?
Same terrain, same logistics — but every riding day is built around coached sessions with Lily instead of a standard guided ride. Smaller group (6–8, minimum 6), and no Puerto Escondido or surf leg this time. The whole week stays focused on riding.
Do I need my own bike?
No. Bring your own if you prefer, or rent from our fleet — an enduro is $130 USD a riding day and an e-bike $200 USD. Optional damage cover is $60 USD a riding day. Either way, ground transport and bike transfer between stages is included, and our mechanic looks after your bike all week.
What is included?
The same structure as our flagship trip: seven nights lodging in double occupancy, all ground transport and bike transfer with a dedicated driver, a bilingual guide and trail mechanic, daily breakfast, one main meal and trail nutrition, trail access and shuttles, and the mezcal and artisan workshop day. The coaching sessions with Lily are on top of that. Final pricing is confirmed with the dates.
What if the group does not reach the minimum of six?
It will not come to that. We are running this as a waitlist precisely so that we only open a date once we know the riders are there — you are not committing to a departure that might evaporate, and you are not putting down a deposit on one either.
What insurance do I need?
The same as every Solo Bike Trip departure: international travel insurance explicitly covering mountain biking or adventure sports, mountain rescue and medical evacuation. It is mandatory, you arrange it yourself, and we ask for proof before Day 1.
Can I book a private clinic for my own group?
It is worth asking. If you already have six riders, tell us on the waitlist form and we will look at a dedicated date for you rather than putting you on an open one.
Because we do not have dates yet, and we are not going to take your deposit for a week we cannot put in your calendar. Joining costs you nothing and commits you to nothing — it just means you hear before everyone else. At six to eight places, hearing first is most of the battle.

We are working the calendar out with Lily now. Put your name down and you hear first — before the dates go public, and before six places disappear.
